Learn to Play Hockey
TRuBlade Skating teaches the fundamentals of hockey skating in 3 Intro Levels.
Hockey Intro 1
Hockey 1
(intended for first-time hockey players who have gone through some skating skills in the past)
*Must be able to fall down and get up on their own
Athletic Skills Development:
- Stand up, Fall, March, Glide, Dip, Snowplow Stop, Forward Swizzles, Glide Turns
Puck Skills Development:
- Proper Stick Placement
- Stationary Puck Handling

(intended for players with little experience in hockey)
*Hockey I Prerequisite or being able to skate the width of the rink without problems
Athletic Skills Development:
- Forward Swizzles, Forward Hockey Shuffle, Forward Slalom, 1 Foot Glide, Snowplow Stop (both feet), Forward C Cuts, Forward Scooter Pushes, Forward Crossovers, Forward Stride
Puck Skills Development:
- Stationary Puck Handling, Open Ice Carry, Forehand Sweep Pass, Receiving a Pass, Forehand Sweep Shot
Adult Hockey 101
Hockey 101
(intended for adult players who have very little experience in hockey or skating)
Athletic Skills Development:
- Basic skating and power skating skills–forward skating, gliding, stopping, backward skating, and agility on the ice.
Puck and Game Skill Development:
- Hockey stance, stick handling, passing, shooting, positioning, defensive and offensive game play.
Hockey Equipment Needed
Full hockey equipment highly recommended (not provided)
- Helmet required with full facemask
- Mouth guard
- Shoulder pads
- Elbow pads
- Hockey gloves
- Hockey pants/breezers
- Hockey shin guards
- Hockey socks or sweat pants to cover shin pads
- Hockey Skates
- Hockey stick

Youth Hockey Camps

Your child will leave camp stronger in skating, stick handling, passing, shooting and have an overall better knowledge of the game.

Youth Hockey League
NPIce offers recreational leagues for ages 5 - 18 years old. Leagues are instructional, non-checking leagues.
Participation in Hockey classes, 1 and 2 are recommended.
Youth Hockey League Info
Youth Ice Hockey League Age Divisions:
• 6-8U League: 8 and younger
• 10U League: 9-10 years old
• 12U League: 11-12 years old
• 14U League: 13-14 years old
• 18U League: 15-18 years old
• 19U Girls League: 15-19 years old
*Age as of the start of the program.
We will be playing intra-league games with other organizations in the West Central Nebraska Skating and Hockey Association (WCNSHA), along with local teams created within this league.
Players receive group instruction, with pne or two 60-minute ice slots per week, and participate in cross ice games on the weekends to advance hockey skills.
Teams of 7 to 10 players will be created and assigned to a 3v3 Team. Assignments will be generally based on school attending, but may management may mix teams at random, if needed per registration numbers. Some age groups may be combined to facilitate availability of individual teams.
Practices will typically be held Mondays or Wednesdays, with games played on Saturday and/or Sundays. Coaches will be in direct communication with parents to set up practice times and game schedules.
Once a player ages out of the Youth programs, they may then begin playing in the Adult programs.
Adult Hockey League
NPIce offers recreational leagues for adults 18 and up, and are instructional, non-checking leagues.
Participation in Hockey 101 is recommended.
Adult Hockey League Info
Adult Ice Hockey League Age Divisions:
• 18 & Up
• 50 & Up
We will be playing intra-league games with other organizations in the West Central Nebraska Skating and Hockey Association (WCNSHA), along with local teams created within this league.
Teams will play one game per week based on age division and skill level where available.
Teams consist of 7-10 players.
Individuals may register if you do not have a team and will be assigned to one at the end of registration.
If you already have a team, a Team Captain must register and create the Team, then the individual Team Players will be able to register to that Team directly.
Held Monday – Thursday evenings. Captains will be responsible for all communication with players on practice times and game schedules.
*Helmets are required. Full hockey gear recommended.
Adult Broomball League
Broomball is a game similar to hockey with modifications.
The game is played on rough ice (post-use) with players wearing sneakers or boots instead of ice skates. Two teams consisting of 6 players on each side uses a stick with a modified broom-shaped head to maneuver a 6″ ball up and down the ice.

Broomball is a game similar to hockey with some soccer strategies incorporated.
The game is played on rough ice (post-use) with players wearing sneakers instead of ice skates. Two teams consisting of 6 players on each side uses a stick with a modified broom-shaped head to maneuver a 6″ ball up and down the ice.
The object of the game is to score more goals than the opposing team.
Adult Broomball League Age Divisions:

Teams consist of 8-12 players.
